This is a really common question which causes a lot of confusion. Also throw in tombstones and monuments.The simple answer is that there is no strict definition. In saying that, a headstone usually refers to the stone which lies upright and contains an inscription. While a gravestone or tombstone refers to the monument as a whole. For example, a single gravestone could be made up of a headstone, base, slab, and kerbing.

2. How much does a headstone cost?

Usually takes around 3 months. If you’re going to have an unveiling or consecration in the near future, make sure you allocate enough time and let us know.

5. How long do you have to wait before building a memorial?

Whatever is comfortable for you ­ some families want to go ahead immediately, while others prefer to wait. A common custom is having the headstone ready before the 1 year anniversary of the person’s passing.
